From no info to wrong info

I was waiting for the MRT train today morning. This happened:

Announcement heard: The train approaching platform A is not for boarding.

Trains comes, doors opened. SMRT staffs (I think they call Service Ambassadors) upon hearing the announcement, told passenger not to board the train.

Some went in nevertheless, as it was an empty train.

Time freeze for a while for most people, then staff looked at the screen and it showed that the train is IN service. Told the crowded to go into the train, embarrassed.

I think the staffs have nothing to be embarrassed about. since they are just following instruction to follow the announcement. The thing if a train is in service, then why make an announcement saying that it is not in service?

I think though we commuters appreciate timely info, we appreciate more if the info is correct and accurate.
The opposite is true, while we commuters hates no having provided information, we detest wrong information more.
